Healing: Embrace your inner wisdom (Podcast LebensLiebe, Healing)

Welcome to LebensLiebe. Your podcast and blog for living, laughing and loving with Martina.

This episode is about healing.

It will elaborate on why healing can help you to let go of suffering and step into a zone of kindness, consciousness and attention. To do so…

… it dives deeply into the wisdom of the Chakras;

…it shows you how to create a golden light of healing;

…takes you on a meditation journey towards the end.

.The yogis say: You are not your body. You are not your thoughts. You simply are. You are a spirit that has come into your body to express your true self. You are energy, flow, life. You are everything and nothing.

This concept isn’t easily accessible. Yet, it helps me to deal with light and dark. Today, I would like to talk about a topic, which is closely related to difficult phases: Healing.

How do you personally feel about healing? And is there a topic that is particularly bothering you right now? Maybe we give ourselves a moment of silence during which you can listen to your inner voice. Is something bothering you right now?

Feel free to write down what came up for you just now and then let go of the thought again. You are allowed to be here now.

You are a miracle

You are a miracle. You are a magic and unique miracle and there is a special reason for your existence. Unfortunately, we don’t tell ourselves often enough how magic we are. Instead we wait for other to tells us. When talking to friends and myself, I often realize how much of our self-esteem depends on the appreciation of others. We want to be loved, respected, and be praised for what we do and how we look. Thus we easily forget to let our light shine from within and to just enjoy who we are. We forget to enjoy the light that radiates from our heart. We forget to just be.

What contributes to that reduction of self esteem is the constant comparison with others. How often do you ask yourself, if you are good enough? If you have achieved enough? If your friends and family might like you more, if you would change something about yourself?

I know these questions and I have to remind myself regularly to stand still and to appreciate all the little miracles that are part of my life. We are all a miracle. We are a present of the universe to the world. We have been given magic gifts that we can apply to express your unique and amazing self every single day.

Did you know that anger, suffering and basically all negative emotions cause your energy levels to lower? You can read more about that in Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book “Supernatural”. He explains it that way: When we are angry, we act on a low energy frequency. We radiate theses frequencies which causes other, similarly low frequencies to correspond with us. This way, we actually reinforce the low frequency. You certainly know that moment, when you are in a low and you think: Well, I just go out and get myself a nice cup of coffee at this really nice place. Then you arrive there and the place is closed or out of coffe or you just get a seat that you don’t like too much. And suddenly it feels like the whole world is against you. Well, that’s what I mean with low energy attracts low energies. The beauty of this lies in turning it around.

Gratitude, happiness and love happen on higher frequencies of energy. If you consciously tap into those feelings by making yourself aware of what you are grateful for – the sunshine in your face or a friend’s message – you automatically act on a higher frequency. And the positive energy you send out comes back to you.

Advice 1: You are a miracle

Next time you drift into a little hole, write yourself a love letter. Start with: I am a miracle and enlist all the things that you like about yourself. Also think about the reasons that others like you. Finish your letter with some aspects you like about your friends. Everything you like about them also resides in you!

Have fun writing your love letter to yourself.

Pain is a teacher

You being here right now shows how much courage and power you have to look at your issues and flaws. It shows a deep level of trust in your capabilities and the strength to take care of yourself. If you doubt that you can always tell yourself the following:

  • I have courage.

  • I am strong.

  • I am safe.

That will help you to look at yourself with kindness and strength. Often, I meet people who are not ready to see. They fear the confrontation with themselves and others and think that looking away is a path to eternal harmony. But they fail to realize that ignoring seldom leads to a dissolution of pain and sadness. That doesn’t mean that you have to jump onto every problem. Choose your battles wisely, they say. But if there is a certain topic which has been with you for a while and which has expressed itself in various shapes and sizes throughout your life, it might be helpful to look at its message.

In the beginning I asked you, if there is a challenging topic that is currently occupying your mind? What was it? And has this topic been with you for a while? If so, maybe it has a message for you.

Probably, the reply that pops into your head now is that you have looked at this by yourself repeatedly. Maybe you got answers, maybe not. I believe that every challenge, issue, or problem, every pain has a message. It might come from your inner child, a person in your life or your past.

The yogis talk a lot about the body being a means of expression for your true self, but also your challenges in life. To understand them better, they use the system of the chakras. Chakras are energetic centres in your body with special meanings. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit an means circle, wheel or disk. Chakras behold messages about things that weigh on us and can even lead to illness. Chakras basically store experiences, fears and uncertainties in the form of knows, pressure and pain. But they can also help you to activate energies in order to grow into your greatest self. They can open up to receive information and they can provide you with insights about yourself.

Chakra 1: Root Chakra or Muladhara

Let’s start with your feet and the first chakra, the so-called Root Chakra or Muladhara. It describes the area from your feet up to your pelvis and roots you into the earth. Its color is red and its meaning is grounding, trust and life force. Financial insecurity, fear of not having enough, feeling lost and not at home, are signs for an imbalance within your root chakra. Lower back pain, varix, pain in feet and legs also hint to the Root Chakra. In order to listen or activate it, you could walk barefoot through the sand or wet lawn. Another option is to joyfully jump up and down and stomp a little. All of that reconnects you with Mother Earth.

Chakra 2: Sacral Chakra or Svadhistana

Now let your attention wander up to the area around your pelvis where the sexual organs are situated. We have now reached the second chakra, your Sacral Chakra or Svadhistana. Its color is orange and its expressed through creativity, feminity or masculinity, feeling and love of life, and passion. Lethargy and fatigue, creative blocks, sexual issues or a low sexual self-esteem are signs that you should look a little closer at this chakra. Imbalances also express themselves through anger, menstrual pain and difficulties in conception, impotence, cystitis. A long, warm bath, swimming, a nice cup of tea help you to reconnect with your Sacral Chakra.

Chakra 3: Solar Plexus Chakra or Manipura

Your third chakra describes the space around your navel, the solar plexus and your digestive organs. It is called Solar Plexus Chakra or Manipura. Its color is yellow like the fire and its stands for power, force, and authority. For me, this is one of the most important chakras because it is in the centre of your body. It also says a lot about patterns of anger, inner crisis, the capability to come to decisions and to take responsibility. Imbalances are expresses through digestive problems, suffering of the gut, stomach and bile, or other pain in this area. You can activate your power centre through conscious belly breathing, gentle belly massage or training your abs.

Chakra 4: Heart Chakra or Anahata

Next, we will look at your heart, chest and chest area. Here we find the Heart Chakra or Anahata, which has the color green. It stands for love, relationships, creativity of the heart, trust, self-love and openness. Envy, jealousy, neglect, emotional numbness and fear of not being loved, difficulties to trust, forgive, and despair tell you to look closer at your Anahata. Also heart problems, narrowness in your chest, colds, tension in your shoulder and neck say something about our Heart Chakra. Exercises to consciously open your heart involve breathing into your chest, visualizing a bright light shining from your heart and stretching your arms out wide.

Chakra 5: Throat Chakra or Vishudda

The fifth chakra is called the Vishudda or Throat Chakra. In the color blue is corresponds with the respiratory system and the through. It stands for communication, self confidence, persuasiveness and expression of emotions. People with a strong Vishudda are often speakers, teachers, writers. Lies and dishonesty, gossiping as well as hoarseness, throat and mouth infections, problems with your teeth – all of that hints to imbalances in your Throat Chakra. Expressing wishes and emotions, addressing an issue or just happily singing a song can do wonders for this Chakra.

Chakra 6: Third Eye Chakra or Ajna

The sixth chakra is your Third Eye Chakra or Ajna. It comes in the color indigo blue or dark purple and relates to your eyes, eyebrows and the third eye, which is the point between your eye brows. It also corresponds with your cerebellum, pineal and pituitary gland and medulla oblongata – basically important parts of your brain. This chakra is the administration centre for the lower chakras and responsible for intuition, connection with something bigger, visualizations, power of the third eye and spiritual awakening. If you feel fears to see yourself as you are, to trust your intuition; if you doubt our intelligence or experience jealousy, fixated behavior patterns or headache, fears, nervousness, depression, issues in eyes and the spine – then you might want to look closer at the sixth chakra.

Meditations, meditations on the third eye, massages of the third eye or child’s pose in yoga activate this beautiful chakra.

Chakra 7: Crown Chakra or Sahasrara

Finally, we are going to look at the Crown Chakra or Sahasrara, which means the 1000-petalled lotus. Its color is ultraviolet or white and it symbolizes connection with the spiritual and divine consciousness. This is where your true self, your purpose and your potential for liberation from suffering and awakening is situated. It is expressed through devotion, humility, kindness, giving, serving, telepathy, unity. If this chakra is out of balance, you may experience a feeling of meaninglessness, crisis of faith, a shortage of courage and confidence, limited capability to think and reflect. Issues in the nervous system or bones can occur. To open that chakra, establish a regular meditation practice. Also wearing a white mountain crystal, surrounding yourself with white or ultraviolet light and breathing in lavender, e.g. during sleep, can help you activate the Crown Chakra.

Thanks for being part of this chakra journey.

Advice 2: Chakra Journey

I would recommend you to do this journey through the chakras again with more time and a piece of paper. Go through your chakras one by one and take notes, if anything comes up for you. You will learn many secrets about yourself.

Practices of mindfulness help you to gently start your healing process. But I want to repeat again. We all face challenges in life. It doesn’t mean that you are not perfect. You are a miracle just the way you are. Practicing mindfulness and looking at those challenges just means that you are giving yourself the chance to dive deeper into your personal world of wonder and to become who you truly are. Give yourself time and space to do so. At the meantime, allow yourself to gently let go of things that might have served you before but don’t any more. This also creates space for new things to come.
